CareAscend provides user-friendly tools that allow users to review, analyze, and dissect data in order to understand correlations between facility quality measures and the medical director's role.
By empowering company leaders, CareAscend enables them to guide facility leaders and medical directors in prioritizing tasks to enhance outcomes. For instance, if a facility is struggling with a high prevalence of antipsychotic medications, CareAscend can help the medical director focus on staff education for that specific quarter.
The program ensures that physician leaders, administrators, and other team members are all aligned in addressing facility key needs and focusing on agreed-upon medical director tasks. This approach fosters ongoing learning for medical directors about their administrative roles within their facilities and organizations.
AMDA (https://paltc.org), Society of Post-Acute Medicine and Long-Term Care Medicine validates the key tasks that medical directors should be performing in alignment with the Code of Federal Regulations.
The CareAscend application platform simplifies the process of logging medical director administrative tasks on-the-go. It eliminates the need for clunky paper-based processes by allowing tasks to be reported as they are being performed, after they have been performed, or even scheduled for future completion with timely reminders. All tasks are communicated to the facility administrator and assigned supervisors before they are finalized.
A live tally of tasks keeps both the medical director and other team members aware of the number of hours performed in a given month, allowing them to plan and utilize remaining hours effectively in priority areas.
The available tasks on CareAscend are fully compliant with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid's guidance on the medical director role and have been validated by AMDA (www.paltc.org) and the Society of Post-Acute Care and Long-Term Care Medicine.
CareAscend offers a secure digital platform to facilitate prompt communication between facility and organization administrators, medical director leaders, and other assigned team members. It also provides a means for company Chief Medical Officers and regional directors to connect with their respective team members. All communications are archived for future reference or quality assurance purposes.
CareAscend includes a calendar feature that enables all team members to schedule administrative events, ensuring that all members are notified of upcoming meetings such as quality assurance, infection committees, and educational activities.
With the performance dashboard feature, users can review their facility's performance and benchmark it against competitors. Chief medical officers and regional leaders have the ability to review and compare task performance across their company's team members. This feature allows users to identify which tasks their medical directors are performing most frequently as well as compare the tasks performed by medical directors at different facilities rated with five stars.
The CareAscend platform simplifies professional development for physicians by sending notifications about upcoming educational events offered by AMDA, the Society of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Members (www.paltc.org), and other professional associations. Physician leaders can also track their attended events and accumulate educational credits on the platform.
